How I love Couture week.

I’ve been pouring over style.com like a kid in a candy shop, sighing at beautiful lace, embellishment, the gorgeous faces of the clothes horses to model the creations and fantasising of a world where we can all run around clad head to toe in haute couture creations every day…

Raf Simons didn’t let me down, and this season it was all about cutwork. Outfit after outfit was slashed or winkled open to form a lattice that veiled the female form below. Then there were actual overlays, and veils of sheer silk covering polka-dot sheaths. Everything shook or shimmied beautifully, with an air of sexiness, as concealment infused with the peekaboo promise of revelation often is.

I’m now getting myself horribly excited to see the Elie Saab show, which I’m certain will be my very favourite – as always – from couture week.

The Christmas Gift Guide..

..It’s that time of year again, before we allow ourselves to get too excited over vats of mulled wine and too many mince pies we desperately try to conjure up the perfect gift ideas for all of our loved ones.

When she tears open the wrapping paper to a perfect brown box with the word Louboutin emblazed across it her christmas has already been made. With one of these classic beauties inside you’ve already made her year; (clockwise from top) Pigalle 120mm pumps, Pigalle 120mm spiked pumps, So Kate 120mm pumps, Lady Peep 150mm Black Patent Platform Pumps (the next pair on my wishlist) or go all-out, decorated with spikes. If she has Louboutin tastes but you’ve got a Topshop budget, these strappy beauties are perfect. If she already has more dancing shoes than there are nights in December, go for a chic pair of Michael Kors ankle boots. If she has as wild side, these are AMAZING. If your really stuck, girls always love Choo’s. Especially with glitter. I love these Anouk Glitter finished pumps.

For the make-up maven who believes she’s tried everything, turn to one of the amazing palettes that have been released this festive season. NARS have set the bar as per usual with a selection of gorgeous stocking fillers; Adult Content Blush Palette, Promiscuous Lip Pencil set, God Created the Woman Smoky Eye Palette, One Night Stand Blush Palette and the Douceurs de Paris Eyeshadows. Bobbi Brown always provide a fail-safe Secret Santa with a selection of make-up books to suit all ages and abilities, gorgeous brush sets and a ton of beautiful palettes. If your still stuck, the MAC holiday collection palettes are amazing this year, and I love these cute dinky little Laura Mercier sets, they have nude, pretty and smoky palettes on offer at Space NK.

Wool, Tweed and Black Lace..

Fluffy, warm knits paired with a silky lingerie inspired slip or flash of lace; coats and blazers with a pleated skirt paired with cozy cardigans and the softest cashmere..

As the temperatures drop I find myself living in comfy polo necks spiced up with a shiny PVC skirt and sandals, or enveloped in more layers than the michelin man; camis under jumpers and faux fur coats with a gorgeous pair of Topshop leather trousers I can’t seem to wrestle off my legs lately..

Rachelle Loves Topshop Rhodium Sandals..

On Saturday afternoon I ended up spending three hours in a bar watching a football match with the boy (read: eating an oversized combo-platter full of carb-a-licious deep fried goodness and drinking too many bottles of tequila beer). Afterwards, both tipsy and after spending too much time in a testosterone filled environment I dragged him to Topshop to restore some balance to our lives.

Spurred on by a weeks worth of calories in one sitting and more beers than I dared to count we ended up going a little wild; a leather tee, blazer, jeans, trousers, jumpers and a few very pretty little tops he steered me in the direction of the till before I could even start on the shoe section. And then I see these beauties. £55 worth of joy.

The snakeskin finish and gold details have me all hot and bothered. I NEED these in my life.

All of these amazing new season releases are too much for a weak fashion-fiend, and after reluctantly checking my current account with one eye closed this morning, are too much for my bank balance too.

Thursday is almost Friday..

A pretty little dose of Thursday inspiration. Off for a meal with some ladies tonight, I’m feeling plenty of tanned Louboutin-ended leg and a punchy red lip.

Loving this very lovely short four day week, one more day until Saturday? The boy and I are trying to come up with something new and exciting to do.. any suggestions bar running away to Vegas are most welcome. Actually…..
